Il cantante belga che accosta il trip hop alla musica elettronica sta riscuotendo un grandissimo successo in tutta europa, raggiungendo i diversi paesi l’ambita numero 1 e chissà se non riuscirà ben presto anche in Italia ?

Sarà Shakira ad esibirsi sulle note di Time For Africa a dar via al nuovo Mondiale di Calcio, che quest’anno si svolgerà in Sud Africa.

La cantante, di origini colombiane, continua la sua partnership con la Fifa World Cup, già nel 20o6 si era esibita nel concerto di chiusura della grande finale del torneo e quest’anno torna cantando, insieme al gruppo Africano “Freshlyground” l’inno ufficiale, che ci terrà compagnia per tutta l’estate…

Shakira: She Wolf è un flop di vendite, quali sono i motivi ?

Non vanno benissimo le cose per la bella Skakira, in crisi con il nuovo album She Wolf, che in solo 3 mesi dall’uscita è riuscito a vendere più o meno 700 mila copie. Un risulato veramente molto scarso se si pensa che con i precedenti album 700 mila copie li vendeva in una settimana, cosa è successo??

Be i motivi sono veramente molti, come si sa i dischi ormai non si vendono più tantissimo ma è anche vero che molti artisti ancora riescono ancora a piazzare nel mercato diversi milioni di copie, basta vedere nell’ultimo anno l’esempio di Lady Gaga. Nel caso di Shakira, la cantante è stata penalizzata sicuramente dalle produzioni abbastanza costante che le hanno affidato i produttori, non a caso sono tantissimi i fans dell’artista, sono rimasti delusi da questa evoluzione di Shaky. L’unica canzone che è riuscita a ottenere un buon successo è proprio She Wolf, che nel suo piccolo usciva un può fuori dal coro delle tante produzioni in giro. Allo stesso tempo è stata leggermente sbagliata l’idea di far uscire fuori come secondo singolo Did It Again, il pezzo di per se è molto carino ma sicuramente poco coinvolgente e difficilmente ti entra in testa come Man In This Town, brano molto energico che poteva benissimo scalare le classifiche di tutto il globo. Peggio ancora è andata in America, dove è stato scelto come secondo singolo, un brano inedito “Give It Up To Me“, non contenuto nella versione europea. L’artista colombiana per questa canzone si è affidata alle mani di Timbaland e un errore peggiore di questo non poteva farlo. Il super produttore dopo aver dominato dal 2006 fino al 2008, nel 2009 ha avuto un cedimento, le sue produzioni hanno iniziato a suonare tutte uguali e evidetemente il popolo si è stancato infatti anche il suo nuovo album “Shock Value 2″ è stato grande flop. Come terzo singolo è stato scelto Gipsy, brano molto in stile orientale che però trovo veramente poco radiofonico, se in europa ha un minimo di possibilità di andare bene, in america la vedo difficile. Dubito che uscirà un quarto singolo, se le cose continuano cosi,visto inoltre che Shakira è al lavoro a nuovo album in lingua spagnola, sperando che questa volta torni a fare la musica che sempre ha fatto!!!

Gli Snow Patrol, festeggiano i primi 15 anni di attività insieme, raccogliendo il meglio della loro carriera all’interno di “Up To Now”, il primo greathits della band scozzese. Oltre i grandi successi, troveremo anche 3 nuove canzoni, tra cui Just Say Yes, un brano scritto nel 2005 inizialmente per Gwen Stafani. Dopo il rifiuto della cantante, il pezzo è passato nelle mani di Nicole Scherzinger( Leader delle Pussycat Dolls), per il suo album di debutto “Her Name is Nicole”, un disco che per vari motivi non fu mai pubblicato. Visto che la canzone per un motivo o un altro, non è stata mai pubblicata, gli Snow Patrol, hanno ben pensato di ri prendersela e pubblicarla per promuovere il loro nuovo disco. La canzone è molto bella, composta principalmente da basi elettroniche e synth in stile anni 80, un sound molto diverso rispetto a quello che di solito ci propone la band…vi lascio alla visione del video…

Secondo singolo solo per il mercato americano per Shakira, si tratta Give It Up To Me, canzone che non è contenuta all’interno dell’edizione europea di She Wolf, ma siamo pronti a scommettere di riverderla tra qualche mese in qualche ri edizione speciale! La canzone vede la produzione del guro Timbaland e la partecipazione del rapper Lil Wayne , una uptempo molto urban oriented che potrebbe permettere a Shakira di farsi conoscere anche in ambienti diversi dal pop..vi lascio all’ascolto…

Dopo il grandissimo successo di “Beautiful Girls” è tempo del nuovo singolo si tratta “me love“per il giovanissimo artista giamaicano Sean Kingston.

Un’altro pezzo energico e dalle sfumature raggee, come era già avvenuto con la precedente hit anche Me love nasce da un campionemento e più precisamente da una canzone dei Led Zeppelin “D’yer Mak’er“. 3° e ultimo singolo per Sophie Ellis-Bextor da suo 3° album ” Trip the Light Fantastic“, sto parlandodi Today the Sun’s on us una mid tempo semi ballata molto ben fatta scritta dall stessa cantante.Una canzone che ha avuto molte critiche positive sia per il testo e la musica infatti è considerata la traccia migliore dell’album,ma nonostante ciò la canzone non è riuscita a sfondare e inghilterra ha debuttato all 66°posizione senza più salire un vero peccatto devo dire.

Penso che questo terzo disco di Sophie sia stato troppo sottovalutato vi erano moltissime traccie buone e il suond anni 80 con un mix dei giorni anni ne facave un ottimo prodotto…ripeto un vero peccato che per lei sia stato un flop.Il video è stato girato in islanda e diretto da Sophie Muller ed ispirato alla storia di Bonnie and Clyde e la Bextor prova ad essere una di loro….vi lascio al video….
